Herb Garden, Week 7

Herb Garden, Week 7

Herb Garden, Week 7My herbs are growing nicely in my little windowsill! I have enjoyed using several of them over the past week in my own cooking. My mom and I were fixing dinner for ourselves on Thursday night and I pulled out some oregano and basil to season our frozen vegetables. Then, on another night, I picked some fresh parsley to sprinkle on my family’s garlic toast. Both dishes were great!

Parsley, week 7

This week, I wanted to discuss my parsley plant. Parsley is a great herb used more as a garnish than as a seasoning. Although many people like to eat some parsley to “cleanse their pallette” after a meal, most of the time we use parsley is
to garnish garlic toast, a casserole, soups, dips, etc. The fresh parsley tasted delicious by itself and on our garlic toast. You can dry parsley by picking the stems and hanging them to dry. I might try this after they get a little taller.
