Asparagus Au Gratin

1/4 cup butter
1 cup mushroom soup
2 hard boiled eggs, chopped
3/4 cup cracker crumbs
1 (14-ounce) can asparagus spears (whole)
3/4 cup mild cheddar cheese

Heat soup and butter in a 4-cup measuring cup on HIGH (microwave) 2 minutes. Stir in chopped eggs. In a 3 quart casserole, layer crumbs, asparagus, soup, egg mixture and grated cheese. Repeat layers and top with cracker crumbs.
