Girls, I thought I’d do a (tasteful) women’s only section for a few weeks! Today, check out this interesting article I found on Everyday Health about Hot Flashes. Apparently, there is a link between consuming more omega 3 fats and having less hot flashes. Now, the studies don’t show that eating omega 3’s can prevent bad night sweats and hot flashes or the required amounts but for most of us just a little reduction in yuck symptoms can help us out!
So, to get in Omega-3’s, look for supplemented products, such as the Smart Balance spreads, mayo, etc as well as fish (deep water fish such as salmon, mackerel, tuna) and flax (add freshly ground flax seeds to your cereal, oatmeal, muffins, etc).
