(Note: This is not a healthy recipe, but oh so yummy!)
Cut okra into 1/2″ pieces. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover with buttermilk and work around to be sure all pieces are saturated.If you like lots of batter on okra, leave alot of milk on it. Otherwise, drain in colander. Put in plastic bag with the corn meal. Shake till all pieces are coated and separate. Fry in deep fryer to desired doneness.
NOTE: To make this recipe a little healthier, try “pan frying” the okra in a little olive oil in the skillet instead of deep frying.
