Ryan and I recently had some friends over for a pre-game meal at our home. Trying to find a healthy, easy, seasonal option, I decided to make this Apple Oatmeal Bake. It was a big hit – so yummy! Enjoy!
6 apples and/or pears
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup oatmeal
1/4 cup Grape-Nuts cereal (optional)
Slice fruit and place in greased baking dish. Toss with cinnamon and brown sugar. Top with oats and cereal. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-30 minutes or until apples are tender-crisp.
NOTE: Other delicious ideas:
– Add dried cranberries or raisins
– Add chopped pecans for a nutty crunch
– Use granola instead of oatmeal and Grape-Nuts
