To decrease fat and calories, replace nut toppings with a crunchy cereal. If you need to use nuts, use lower-fat nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, or peanuts.
Or, substitute 1/3 of the flour in a recipe with oats or ½ of the all-purpose flour in a recipe with whole wheat flour.
