Run Away from Cancer

While working on my oncology internship rotation at Baton Rouge General Hospital, I learned a lot about cancer and the effect it has on people’s lives. More and more studies are giving hope to future cancer treatments and prevention strategies.
According to the American Diabetes Association, exercise is a key component in the prevention of breast cancer and many other types of cancer. We already know that regular exercise (30-60 minutes, 4-5 days per week) can help fight cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and other health problems. Exercising to prevent breast cancer is just one more reason to lace up those walking shoes and get outside.
