2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons light butter
3/4 cup fat-free buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine flour, soda, powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or by crossing two knives (see notes below) until mixture is crumbly.
Add buttermilk and mix just until combined, but no more than necessary, adding more buttermilk if mixture appears dry.
Turn dough onto floured board and pat to 3/4 inch thick using hands (do not use rolling pin, as this will make the dough tough).
Cut out biscuits using round cutter and place onto a lightly greased cookie sheet with sides of biscuits touching.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until light brown on top and bottom.
NOTE: These biscuits work very well to roll out, place on cookie sheet, and freeze. Simply place frozen biscuits on cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.
