My Aunt Martha Harpole sent me this interesting fact about rolling out & cutting out cut-out cookies! Hope it will help to simplify your life during this busy baking time!
Rolling Hints: Roll your dough out BEFORE chilling & then chill. You can roll out balls of dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper & then place them in the refrigerator on baking sheets to chill, stacking the sheets of dough on top of one another & pull them out one at a time when you are ready to cut the cookies out. Take one sheet of waxed paper off, brush that side with flour, replace the waxed paper, & flip the dough over. Peel off the top sheet & you’re ready to cut your cookies out with minimal mess.
While this method uses alot of waxed paper, the clean up is cut way back – simply put extra dough back on the sheet of waxed paper until you have enough extras to make another “sheet” of dough to cut out.
– Wipe the counter with a damp cloth if you’re noticing your waxed paper slipping on the counter.
