~ Party idea for your ladies group… Everyone bring one frozen 9X13 inch casserole to exchange within the group along with a copy of the recipe for each lady within the group. Everyone goes home with a frozen dinner for later and a booklet of the recipes.
~ For Kids: Make “fancy sandwiches” using large cookie cutters to make “heart” or “flower” shaped sandwiches.
~ For kids: Have one night a week as “Pizza Night.” – Everyone gets to decorate their very own personal pan pizza – great for kids of all ages!

~ To make 1 1/2 cups of cornbread mix, use: 1 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt
~ To prevent a film from forming on custards, quickly place a sheet of buttered wax paper or plastic wrap over the top.

~ Do your grocery shopping as early in the morning as you can. Overnight, the stockers will have marked down items like bagged salad, breads, meats, etc that will soon hit the expiration date. Many of these items may be purchased for less than half their regular price. Many can be frozen for later use, or use them that same day.
~ A great way to save money on potting soil and save yourself a backache: Fill your planters about half full with styrofoam peanuts and add potting soil to fill the pot. Then, plant your garden. You will use less soil and make the planter much lighter when you need to move it.
