What’s on Your New Year’s Plate?

If you’re looking for some delicious recipes to add to your New Year’s feast, try my family’s favorite recipes…

I don’t subscribe to the “luck” and myths surrounding New Year’s traditions, but I sure do enjoy my yearly Black Eyed Peas and Sausage! Here’s a sampling of my family’s favorite New Year’s menu.

Black Eyed Peas & Sausage
Coleslaw
Pork Loin (this isn’t our original recipe, but it is really good)

Note: I don’t believe in luck, but both Black Eyed Peas and Greens (we like cabbage) are symbolic of wealth over the New Year. Peas look like little coins and swell when you cook them, symbolizing prosperity. Greens are the same color as money! Many people enjoy Corn Bread on New Year’s Day, which is the same color as gold!
